"Dear Mr. Cardwell,

I am writing in regards to the extra effort made by yourself and your team at Stem Cell Authority to ensure the cord blood and umbilical cord of our daughter was transported in an efficient and timely manner to the processing facility.

Unfortunately, the schedules of labor and baby arrivals do not always fit well with the schedules of the national courier services.  In this scenario, we are very grateful that you made the arrangements with specialized medical couriers to ensure that our daughter’s cord would not go to waste.  Your efforts to provide weekend service were beyond what we expected of Stem Cell Authority. 

The successful harvesting of Mesenchymal stem cells from our daughter’s umbilical cord and Hematopoietic stem cells from her cord blood will provide her with the opportunity to benefit from the evolution of medical research and its applications.

The traditional storage of Hematopoietic stem cells has limited applications due to the specificity of the cells, and the number of cells collected. The discovery of a rich source of Mesenchymal stem cells in addition to Hematopoietic stem cells appears to be an incredible leap forward, potentially allowing for a multitude of new applications in disease treatment. This potential is what led my wife and I to decide upon the unique Mirachymal collection offered by Stem Cell Authority.  My wife and I are both hospital pharmacists and are surrounded daily by the advances in medical science.  We felt this was the insurance policy with the greatest potential benefit for our new daughter.

"Making a decision to save cord stem cells from our son Justin was a very important decision for us.  In our case, we had several reasons for making the choice to collect the stem cells.  Our first thoughts were for Justin’s future.  Stem cells contain so much potential healing power, much of which is still being discovered, that it would have been very difficult to pass up our only known opportunity to collect and preserve these important cells. 

In our case, Justin’s maternal grandfather has had several battles with Hodgkin’s disease.  This disease has thankfully been in remission for several years now, but with cancer there are no guarantees.  If this disease would ever resurface, it would be almost certain that he would need a bone marrow donation, and there are no known matches for him.  Justin’s stem cells give us the opportunity to offer a gift of healing and perhaps even life to a very special person in our lives. 

Stem Cell Authority had the added benefit of being able to collect both the Hematopoietic stem cells from the cord blood and the Mesenchymal stem cells collected from the umbilical cord.  As future discoveries are made, we know that we have protected ourselves and those that we love every way possible through Stem Cell Authority."

"While out eating breakfast I met Mr. Cardwell of Stem Cell Authority by coincidence one day in the spring of 2008. I was four months pregnant with my third daughter. My husband and I knew about stem cell research and its long-term benefits, but only through a wonderful blessing was this knowledge brought to reality. My husband and I both have genetic issues on both sides of our family tree. I lost my son Samarye to Menkes disease when he was only eight months old. My husband’s family has a history of a dental disease, which randomly affects one child and totally skips the other. For these reasons we know firsthand how important the benefit of having access to any medical advantage a family can have could be to them. As we move along in years we have some measure of comfort in knowing we have an important weapon to assist us in our endeavor to maintain our health and quality of life.
 
On that spring day in 2008 Mr. Cardwell extended the services of the Stem Cell Authority to my family free of charge. This endowment came from a man who met me basically in passing and took it upon himself to give my family a precious gift, which could save or extend one of our lives.

Synia Sneed was born on August 17, 2008. The Stem Cell Authority staff, in conjunction with Summa Health, professionally collected the samples and made the process smooth. Now Synia, Savannah, and Sienna can enjoy a quiet peace of mind knowing that if it is medically possible for stem cells to help them in the future, they will have this tool at their disposal.
