What is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative Medicine has an outstanding track record and has helped professional athletes like Kobe Bryant and Chris Johnson recover from what could have been career-ending injuries. Now, this advanced, minimally-invasive therapy is available to you.
Regenerative Medicine is the use of advanced techniques in the form of stem cell injections to stimulate the body’s own healing abilities. The therapies at the heart of Regenerative Medicine are minimally invasive and non-surgical. The goal of Regenerative Medicine is to shorten healing time, promote thorough healing, and regenerate damaged tissue through targeted treatments.
As recently as a few years ago, if you suffered from arthritis or sustained a major injury to a joint, you pretty much had only one option – surgery. You undertook the risks of infection and other surgical complications and were faced with a long, often agonizing, recovery.
Today, that is no longer the case.
The field of Regenerative Medicine is offering hope to thousands, alleviating their pain and allowing them to maintain an excellent quality of life.
Stem Cell Therapy
This treatment uses your own stem cells, easily harvested from your body so there is no risk of contamination from a donor. These are not embryonic stem cells but rather your own tissue.
Stem cell therapy is a major component of Regenerative Medicine. This treatment uses your own adult stem cells, easily harvested from your body so there is no risk of contamination from a donor. These are not embryonic stem cells but rather your own tissue.
When administered by a skilled and experienced physician, stem cell injections can help with a variety of orthopedic problems. The procedure is largely painless. Adult stem cells are associated with a number of growth factors that aid in healing damaged tissue. They help your body’s repair system to boost your recuperation – allowing you to heal more quickly and thoroughly. In fact, stem cell injections can sometimes eliminate the need for costly and painful orthopedic surgeries!
Daily life takes a toll on our bodies. As we age, wear and tear builds up over time – particularly on our joints and connective tissue. Sports, accidents, injuries, and disease can all contribute to joint dysfunction and pain. But stem cell treatments can help regenerate these areas and “reverse the clock.” It’s not magic, but it is the next best thing.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Another Regenerative Medicine option that uses your own tissue. A small amount of blood is withdrawn from your body and the platelets separated from the rest of your blood. After processing, this platelet-rich blood plasma is injected in the areas to be treated.
Platelet-rich plasma treatments are another Regenerative Medicine option and are similar to adult stem cell therapy in many respects. Once again, the tissue used is your own. A small amount of blood is withdrawn from your body and the platelets – cells that aid in blood clotting and contain growth factors – are separated from the rest of your blood. After processing, this platelet-rich blood plasma is injected in the areas to be treated.
PRP contains anywhere from five to 40 times as many platelets as normal blood. These platelets and their associated growth factors stimulate your own stem cells to repair and/or regrow injured tissue. PRP therapy is well-suited to treat a host of problems such as muscle and tendon tears, joint capsule damage, and degenerative conditions.
As with adult stem cell treatments, PRP therapy does not require surgery. Side effects are minimal and the risk of infection, allergic reaction, or inflammation is very low. PRP treatments can provide you with a noticeable improvement in pain and mobility with just a few sessions.

Traditional western medicine tends to focus on suppressing the symptoms of disease or injury. Many of the most common medical conditions we see do not traditionally have a ‘cure.’ Instead, they are treated with prescription medication which suppresses the symptoms, making the sufferer as comfortable as possible.
At the Magaziner Center, we work to find the cause of the dysfunction, rather than the effects of it. We utilize a highly unique and extremely thorough series of tests to determine exactly what is happening in the body. By determining the root cause of the problem, we are then able to work to correct it, affecting an end to symptoms, often without the use of pharmaceuticals. We understand that no part of the body is isolated. When dysfunction or symptoms occur in one area, it can affect a multitude of other areas. This is the very definition of holistic— treating the body as a ‘whole’. We look at everything from nutritional status, lifestyle, emotional health, environment, and much more.
Our goal is to restore your body to optimal wellness and to allow you to achieve the vitality for life that you are seeking. We strive to put an end to medication-dependent living and balance your body with a more natural, health-enhancing approach.
Your body has the ability to heal itself. We give it the tools it needs to do so.
“When we opened the Magaziner Center, ‘holistic healthcare’ was not yet a household term in the U.S. In fact, many of my colleagues did not believe a center such as this could be a success. That was in 1987. Integrative medicine has since become widely known and sought after, as more and more Americans see the benefits of treating the body naturally, as a whole.
We avoid the traditionally Western approach of suppressing symptoms with drugs, and instead look for the root cause of the dysfunction and treat is at its source, using almost exclusively natural and scientifically valid methods. Almost weekly, I read an article about some prescription drug that actually causes the condition it was meant to cure, or how new research shows that one of the treatments we have been using for years has been found to be safer and more effective than the conventional treatment.
It is so wonderful to see the treatments and philosophy that we have been using since the beginning, finally getting recognition and becoming more widely understood and sought after.” Allan Magaziner
At the Magaziner Center for Wellness…
we have specialized in the non-surgical treatment of joint pain and injury since 1999 and as of 2015, have performed over 60,000 regenerative procedures, on everyone from top professional football players to elderly patients hoping to avoid joint replacement, to the active middle age person who may have already had a failed surgery for a meniscus or rotator cuff tear. We take a holistic approach to orthopedics and look not only at the injured joint but at where the problem originates. Whether the injury occurred in the knee, hip, back, neck, or ankle, we look at the entire body and often find problems such as a tilt in the pelvis, an abnormal gait, or a spinal misalignment. By treating the root cause of the problem, rather than the symptoms, our patients generally excellent clinical outcomes without the side effects.
Stem cell therapy has a dramatic effect on joint pain. Patients have come to us hoping to avoid knee or hip replacement surgery, for example, and we have used stem cell therapy to, not only relieve them of pain but actually heal the joint, negating the need for surgery or further treatment. Many of our patients who have already had surgery and found that it did not help them are healed after being treated with stem cells. We get them off their painkillers and improve their quality of life exponentially.
What is stem cell therapy?
Stem cell therapy is a highly effective treatment in which stem cells are injected into an injured area. At the Magaziner Center, we use Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for our stem cell therapy injections. MSCs are manufactured in the bone marrow but are stored in the highest concentrations in our fat. Stem cells are responsible for rebuilding and regenerating the body. They are living cells that are able to transform themselves into many different types of tissue, and are therefore able to differentiate into ligaments, tendons, bone, nerve, and cartilage.
When an injury occurs, it is the stem cells that are released and summoned by the body to rebuild damaged muscle, joints or cartilage. By injecting these stem cells directly into the damaged area, the doctor is able to assist and accelerate the body’s natural healing process.
Welcome to National Stem Cell Centers
At National Stem Cell Centers, our affiliate physicians focus on leading-edge, regenerative medicine. Instead of synthetic compounds, prescription medications, or surgical procedures, we activate your own natural cellular resources to promote healing.
Our goal is to allow patients access to this potentially revolutionary form of treatment to harness your body’s natural healing cascade mechanism for the repair of damaged tissues.
Adult mesenchymal stem cells are a form of undifferentiated cells. These kinds of stem cells are found in great abundance within fatty tissue. Lying dormant (non-replicating), these remarkably intelligent cells can be activated to become other kinds of cells specific to tendons, muscle, blood vessels, nerves, and bone.
This means that stem cell therapies can be the key to reducing pain, chronic inflammation, and the mitigation of many degenerative disease states.
At National Stem Cell Centers, our affiliated physicians utilize only adult stem cells harvested from your own fat tissue, without any form of artificial cellular manipulation. This means that our treatments are both effective and efficacious.

Learn More About the Stem Cell Facelift Procedure
Stem Cell Facelift Procedure – Step One
The prepared cell complex is then transplanted. Using a fingertip palpation technique, the first step is performed by infiltrating the complex at the level of the infraorbital rim onto the periosteum. The 18-gauge needle is introduced via the piriform aperture and placed onto the infraorbital rim at the periosteal level. 0.5-cc of lipoaspirate and growth factor, adult stem cell combination is deposited in four or five passes along the orbital rim beep to the orbicularis muscle.
Stem Cell Facelift Procedure – Step Two
The second step is an injection of the same growth factor adipocyte stem cell matrix to the deep muscular component of the malar eminence as well as the deeper components of the nasolabial fold, (i.e., the muscles and subcutaneous layers). Here, approximately 4 to 6 cc of the matrix complex is injected with the 18 gauge blunt needle (see illustration step #3). This is accomplished in linear “rivelets” to allow for optimal growth of neighboring blood vessels into the transplanted matrix, and to avoid local avascular necrosis of the transplanted fat cells.
Stem Cell Facelift Procedure – Step Three
A superficial injection at the level of the dermal subcutaneous border is then completed to stimulate general regeneration of dermal elements, collagen, elastin, and HA production. This is accomplished via a 3cc syringe which contains a selective different group of growth factors (dermal growth factors) to encourage collagen formation and HA production over an extended period of time (three months). This step is designed to stimulate the transplanted adipose stem cell matrix as well as the local stem cells present.
